From quebecer jazz to american pop maya.
On the 273rd edition of RootsWorld Radio, we explore a taboo subject
in a song from Reunion, jazz from Montreal and the UK with deep roots
in the Americas and the Caribbean. We’ll hear what roots artists can
do with some classical war horses, some central American pop
re-imagined in ancient Maya, the return of my favorite Gabonese
songwriter, some traditional folk from England and some global
folk-fusions.
Artists on the show include Anna O’aro, Jowee Omicil, Sons of Kemet, Cesare
Dell’Anna’s GiroDiBanda, The Furrow Collective, Pierre Akendengue,
Doctor Nativo, Kyab Yul Sa, and Sekou Bah.
